Welcome to Utah State University Family Housing! The area you will be living in is known as FASA (Family and Single Area), and I am happy to welcome you to our Community. FASA comprises families living in the Townhouses, West Stadium Villa, and Aggie Village, as well as single upperclassmen and graduate students also living in Aggie Village. It is a diverse area and one in which I hope you will have many opportunities for friendship and growth.
My name is Richard Workman and I am the Area Coordinator for FASA. In this role I oversee the Resident Assistants (RAs), the FASA Area Office, and the day-to-day business of the area. My office is located in the FASA Area Office, which is west of the large Grass Field and Playground in Aggie Village. My Office hours vary depending on the time of year, but they are listed on the Area Website.
If there is one thing that can help you to transition smoothly into our community and enjoy your time with us, it would be your RA. Your RA is extensively trained in Community Development, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Campus Resources, and Social Responsibility. They are expected to provide certain resources for you, including: Activities and Programs, Community Interaction Times (when they will be coming around to see how things are going), and Enforcement of Housing and University Policy.
Your RA will want and need your input for how your area will develop and what activities and programs should be provided. Please feel free to provide them with feedback not only for themselves, but for USU Housing in general.
As a final note, living on campus can be both rewarding and challenging. You are now a part of a community and it is important to accept responsibility for your actions and feelings. I highly recommend that you read the community Living Declarations and Resident rights and Responsibilities included in the Resident Handbook for Family Housing. Please make every effort to respect your neighbors and to work on any problems or issues that arise with them. Additionally, if a concern arises that you feel unable to deal with, please inform your RA as soon as possible.
As a Staff, we are here to support you in any way we can. I hope you will take advantage of all that FASA has to offer and that you enjoy your time and experiences with us!

FASA General Information
FASA Gram This is a monthly newsletter that goes out to each resident by the 10th of each month. There are often “required reading” sections that have important information about policies or events in your community. It is your responsibility to read the FASA Gram each month.
Aggie Village Community Center (AVCC) The community center can be reserved and used for special events. You are responsible for your guests and cleaning the facility after each use. You may call the FASA office at 797-3275 to check availability or visit the AVCC page located under the FASA Office tab. However, reservations cannot be made over the phone since a reservation form is required to reserve the facility. The community center may NOT be used for commercial endeavors such as Mary Kay parties, Scentsy parties, Jewelry parties, etc. The community center may be reserved for recurrent religious purposes ONLY if it is open to the whole community. Please see the AVCC page for the Reservation Form.
Lock-Outs Lock-outs are $1.00 during FASA Office hours. Call your RA or go directly to the FASA Office. Before or after office hours, lock-outs are $10. Call the RA on-call at 770-0535 for after-hours lock-outs.
Mail You can send mail by placing letters in the back of your mail box with the stamp end closest to the back of the box. If you receive mail not intended for you, simply write “return to sender” or “resident no longer lives here” on mail and place in the back of your box. Please note that packages will not be delivered to the FASA office.
Laundry The laundry room is located west of the field in the center of Aggie Village, near the parking lot and community center. The laundry room is open 6:30am-10:00pm. Washers are $1.25 and dryers are $1.00. The machines take quarters or a credit card machine on the southeast side of the laundry room has been provided that residents may use to pay for laundry.
Recycling Our main recycling center is located in a large trailer in the northwest parking lot near Aggie Village building 35. We also have a smaller recycling area located in the southwest parking lot near Aggie Village building 16. There are two additional cardboard recycling bins located in the parking lots near the FASA Office and the Townhomes. If you find the recycling bins full, please call Campus Recycling at 797-2011. Campus Recycling does not have a regular schedule for picking up our recycling so they rely on our community to notify them when our bins are getting full.
Computer Lab and Exercise Room FASA residents have access to public computers in both the FASA office and the Student Living Center student computer lab. To access the Student Living Center (SLC) lab, just take your student ID to the area office. The Student Living Center also has an exercise room that FASA residents may use. Take your student ID to the SLC area office to have a key made for access.
