This letter concerns the health and safety of all residents. If you have a disability or medical condition requiring exceptional care or consistent medication, it is to your advantage to inform your RA, or Richard Workman, the Area Coordinator. We understand this is a very personal issue and you are not required to make others aware of your disability or health concerns. However, in an emergency situation, it may be crucial that someone knows how to assist you effectively.
For example, if there were a fire, your RA would need to make sure that those who are Deaf or have limited mobility are aware of the danger and can exit the building. If you have a medical history of seizures, diabetes, or mental illness regulated by medication, you may want to make someone aware of the symptoms of a medicinal crisis.
Respect for your confidentiality is absolute. You may contact Richard or your RA in person or in writing, preferably within the first two weeks of moving on-campus. Please outline what others may do to help you immediately and who should be contacted to provide further care. Please be assured that any information you share will be used only to assist and protect you.
